Although I have been reading periodically posts on this board, I've never joined a conversation. Now that I am in the middle of my cycle and you ladies seem to be experts, I need some advice. My donor is a 20 year old proven donor. Today she produced 22 eggs. Since I am doing a split cycle with another couple, I have 11 eggs to work with. Can you tell me how many embryos you would transfer? I am 39, with a history of repeated miscarriages. One resulted in a blood clott in the umblical cord. I am now on Lovenox and baby aspirin even though I don't have APS. I want to transfer 2 embryos but don't want to result in any pregnacy complications. I would love to hear your opinions!
Amount of Embryos to transfer?????
Psych Eval
So I FINALLY got an appointment for the mandatory psych consult (I ended up having to call the RE since no one was calling me back for an appointment.)
Our appt is on Jan 22 at 10am. Its a 2 hour appointment - what is this about? What do we expect? What kind of questions will be asked?
We have one IVF DD (genetically ours) and we will be pursuing DE with DH sperm.
Thanks!
January 2013 DE/IVF continued
I hope we can continue to support each other through our journeys, whether it be continuing with the DE/IVF roller coaster, pregnancy, etc. I love you ladies!
Best decision ever!
I have to share with you that the greatest decision I ever made was to do DE IVF. I'm looking at the most perfect little guy in the world and feeling grateful for everything!
After multiple late losses and a stillbirth I never thought my family would be complete.
I wish all of you the same success I've had.

Donor Testing
I am planning on an egg donor cyce towards the end of January. I have picked out my egg donor - she has had 1 previous cycle that resulted in a twin pregnancy plus 3 frozen embryos and the nice thing is she actually did that cycle at my clinic only a few months ago. I am also using a sperm donor. My question is what genetic testing was performed on your egg donor. Mine only had testing for cystic fibrosis during her first cycle. I have already told them I want her tested for Fragile X but am now thinking I should also have Tay Sachs as she lists some Jewish ancestory and it seems this is pretyt routine testing for egg donors. May have them just run the Counsyl panel. What do you guys think?
Pregnant from Donor Eggs
I would love to share with other moms of successful donor egg cycles, so hopefully this thread can be used for those of us that are currently pregnant from a donor cycle or already have children from a donor cycle.
I have several donor egg cycle buddies that are now pregnant and we are all expecting 2011 babies, so hopefully this is a great place to be our new home to post during our pregnancies.
Me & DH are both 43 and we live in South Carolina. We have 3 children ages 20, 17 & 13. The eldest two are my stepchildren and they live in California with their mom. My stepdaughter is pregnant and is due on 2/2/2011. We have not shared with her or my stepson that we are pregnant, but plan to do so after the 1st trimester.
Our EDD is 5/5/2011
1st beta was 150 (12dp3dt), 2nd beta was 505 (15dp3dt), 1st Ultrasound was on 9/16 (7w0d) and we had a HB of 135.
Tell us about you...where you are in your pregnancy or if you already have children, tell us about your experience as a mom of a miracle baby through donor eggs.

Any older 45 ladies on this board?
Hi Ladies,
I'm wondering if anyone on this board is 45+. Iam a California Conceptions embryo donation patient.
As with any IVF procedure, I'll have to decide on the number of emryos to transfer, 1 or 2. I'm curious about how older (potential) moms have made this decision and what factors you considered. Or do any older moms have twins and how did the pregnancy go, etc? TIA.

DE questions
Have any of you had success with frozen eggs? How about a shared cycle?
What advice do you wish you had been given beforehand?
TIA
Halle Berry pregnant at 46
What do you think? This has got to be another celebrity like Kelly Preston getting pregnant with donor eggs. I wish to God that for once these women would proudly admit to using donor eggs so that the rest of us don't feel like lesser women for not being able to use our own eggs at 40! Wouldn't that be nice?
Donor with a different blood group than mine..
Wanted to ask the ladies whose donor has a different blood group...Did your RE/ obgyn got a ICT blood test done and were u at any point, given any kind of injection because of the different blood gp..
My obgyn wants these done and I am a lil confused..
DE IVF August 2013 pt 2
Introduction and request for advice
I'd like to introduce myself as I'm not sure which thread to jump in on.
Long story short, at the end of my third IVF with my own eggs - I had a beta of 71 last Friday and today's beta is only 176 so even though re is making me continue PIO shots and return Monday for blood work I know it's another chemical.
It's been a long road for all of us, my journey included the loss of our daughter conceived naturally two years ago at 39 weeks due to an umbilical cord knot, clomid, one IUI and three IVFs. Each time I had 5-6 good eggs ( or so they seemed) and 4-5 day five blastocysts but only a BFN, chemical with a starting beta of 37 and my current state.
I can't take another chemical - it is so frustrating and devastating.
Hubby wants to jump to donor egg as soon as possible - we discussed with RE prior to doing a final round with my own eggs and we have already found an acceptable match on USA donor bank. Re says by using frozen we can cycle as early as end of January
So - if I'm honest with you ---- I'm sad I can't have a baby with my own eggs. To have one naturally two years ago that was taken away and then have such crappy eggs now is a special kind of torture.
Could you please help me by sharing your experiences and how you made the switch to DE? Hubby doesn't understand - to him a DE is no big deal, we have rescue dogs and cats and I think he sees it the same way. For me --- I'm still scared I won't get over the fact it isn't my eggs.
Help please

Straight to Donor?
Hello All~
I am new to this site. I am 42 (and a half :)) and have one completely blocked fallopian tube and one that is questionable at best. I met my sweet husband at 41 and of course thought that I would have zero problem getting pregnant right away. Everybody in Hollywood is doing it; right?
So after a year of trying, we've been to a fertility center. I am in the process of a mock cycle and preparing to undergo IVF with a donor. We have not tried IVF with my own eggs at all. I am posting because although I feel good about our decision to use donor eggs, I wonder what others in my position have done. I guess I want a little feedback and assurance that we're doing the right thing.
My husband and I only have one shot at this, so that's why we're going with the donor without even trying my eggs. We do not have unlimited financial resources and insurance covers nothing. There is no way financially that we could do another cycle if my eggs were to fail, and of course time is not on our side. With the donor, we qualify for a success guarantee so that if we do not bring home a baby, we are refunded or can continue transfers until we do conceive.
Has anyone else here gone straight to a donor after not being able to conceive naturally? If I were in my 30's, I would be trying with my own eggs first, but at my age, I just don't want to take a chance of no baby if the odds are stacked against me. I don't know all the of medical lingo yet, but when my doctor has examined me with ultrasound, I have had six follicles total. My AMH is also below optimal level. But then I read miracle stories (women doing IVF at 42 with their own eggs and conceiving on the first try) on the Internet and start wondering if we're doing the right thing.
