DE in early 2014
Hello ladies,
I have been on a few other groups discussing DE, but thought I would officially join over here. A little bit of our back story. We have been TTC for 19 months give or take. I had an early m/c in Nov 2012. Never had another BFP. We kept trying until Feb on our own and then went to my OB and did 3 rounds of clomid with only monitoring via p4 checks. Referred to an RE in June and did 2 IUIs one on clomid and one on Femara making plenty of eggs. Never thought there was a problem until my 3rd IUI I ovulated very early even on Femara and I requested more testing to be done. Low and behold my AMH was 0.37 and my FSH was slightly elevated at 9.9. We moved straight to IVF. Well, that cycle was cancelled as well. Never made any follies for the first time ever. I believe I was oversupressed by BCP, but it led me to believe my best chances to become a Mom and have a pregnancy was with the help of DE. I am 35 and DH will be 30 in December and would love to have more than one if possible. Although, we have almost given up hope in that right now. I have tried every supplement and done it all. I could try to cycle again with my own eggs, but I dont want to risk spending all that mone and being left with nothing and then our option for DE is out at that point. Last Friday, we selected our donor and she already accepted. I am hoping for a January 2014 transfer maybe later. Our lab closes for 3 weeks in december and after all we have been through we dedcided not to rush through it all. In the meantime we are trying on our own and I have been doing a cleanse to get healthy and lose some weight that all these fertility meds packed on!
Well, thats a little bit of me...hope to hear of some other ladies transfering around the same time!

Sadly One twin ,,,,,,,,
is not progressing. I had my second sono and Dr. only seen one heart beat and what appears to be another empty sack :(
Dr says that my body can absorb it naturally (which I'm praying will happen) or I will start cramping and bleeding (which terrifies me for I am fearing I will loose the other baby).
Dr says it is possible that the other baby is hiding (even though realistically I know the odds).
I have a follow up sono in three weeks!!!!! I'm going to loose my mind by then.
Thanks for listening to me vent, I know it could be worse and that I should be greatful for the one, even though I'm scared and grieving a possible loss.

December 2012 transfer/waiting for pregnancy test...
Yesterday we had one frozen donor egg transferred, and are now eagerly awaiting the pregnancy test. Anyone else?

Any older 45 ladies on this board?
Hi Ladies,
I'm wondering if anyone on this board is 45+. Iam a California Conceptions embryo donation patient.
As with any IVF procedure, I'll have to decide on the number of emryos to transfer, 1 or 2. I'm curious about how older (potential) moms have made this decision and what factors you considered. Or do any older moms have twins and how did the pregnancy go, etc? TIA.

Amount of Embryos to transfer?????
Although I have been reading periodically posts on this board, I've never joined a conversation. Now that I am in the middle of my cycle and you ladies seem to be experts, I need some advice. My donor is a 20 year old proven donor. Today she produced 22 eggs. Since I am doing a split cycle with another couple, I have 11 eggs to work with. Can you tell me how many embryos you would transfer? I am 39, with a history of repeated miscarriages. One resulted in a blood clott in the umblical cord. I am now on Lovenox and baby aspirin even though I don't have APS. I want to transfer 2 embryos but don't want to result in any pregnacy complications. I would love to hear your opinions!

Screening Question
For those who used either an agency or clinic donor (not frozen), did your clinic require you to do genetic testing on the donor or was that your choice?
My donor donated once before in October 2012 and there was genetic testing done at that time, I feel that is probably good enough but the clinic is telling me she will have to see the genetic counselor again and have updated genetic screening. I really think this should be our choice. Her history was good and since she passed the genetic screen just over a year ago, I see this as an area we can save money.

Estrace
My RE has me on estrace three times a day right now preparing for my transfer to prepare my lining. No Lupron or BCP. I have lots of ewcm this afternoon which I only get before O but I thought this was preventing it. I also know e2 rises and that's what produced ewcm but is this make sense for my DE cycle?

A poll to help my jitters
Hi all, I'm set to start Lupron Tues & am having a ton of anxiety about all of this (due to a deployed DH & having no one to confide in, and our weekly chat was canceled today due to him last minute travel). I just learned DH will be home mid Feb & I'm terrified it's going to fail & I'll feel like a failure again. So I'm looking for some encouragement that it can work on the 1st try!
I'm curious, how many of you used frozen eggs from a bank & had success with your 1FET? Also, did you have any left over frosties? Can you tell me a little of your experience, how many eggs, how many fert, how many trans/left over? I'm using a 1st time donor so I will get 8 eggs & just looking for some reassurance that even though it might not work, it also might!

Positive Beta-Emotional Train Wreck! Ideas Please!
Before the embryo transfer on 12/2, I decided to get off the 50 mg of zoloft I take to ensure the baby or babies would have the best chance without possible complications because of medications I take. 12/10 I had a positive beta test of 84 and 48 hours later it was 244. I am super excited, but worried at the same time based on past experiences.
There is one BIG problem! I am an emotional train wreck! I cry several times a day at something (those are the hormones, I am sure of it :) ) But then my temper can go from 0-10 in a split second and I am yelling at my family! That is from being off the zoloft, I am sure of that! I have a 7 year daughter and a 5 year old son and my daughter just doesn't get why I am getting mad at her so often and crying all the time. Today she told me that I am probably the only mom that cries this much and that gets mad. Ugh, it breaks my heart!
I need to come up with some kind of a plan to help me with the getting mad part. The crying, I can handle that. But I feel like I am a completely different person and no one in my family knows how to respond/react to me. I hate it. I am tempted to go back on the zoloft because it would help temendously. BUT even though the risks are small there are still risks and I just can't do this to this baby.
I feel like I am one big mess and I would appreciate some suggestions or techniques you might use to help yourself relax in the moment.

Donor egg success rate - Poll
If you are currently pregnant with DE, or have had a successfull DE pregnancy, how many attempts did it take?
I would love some hope, as I have gone through my first and it ended in a CP and I feel a bit low atm.
If we get a good reaction on this, I'm thinking of linking it in the sticky.
I look forward to hear from you and feel free to give extra info.
If you were only successful in a subsequent attempt, did you use the same donor/different donor?

My Donor Egg Transfer this Wednesday or Friday!!
Hello everyone,
I am brand new to the board and would love to hear about your experiences! I am getting ready for my D/E transfer and I am incredibly nervous and excited.
We did a full fresh cycle, the retrieval was yesterday and received the call today reviweing the numbers. They retrieved 11 eggs and so far only 7 embryos (waiting for a few more - fingers crossed!). For those of you that have done this already, are these okay numbers considering it was a full fresh cycle? The office does not typically share how many follicles are developing, but they kept saying, :it's a great cycle- she's doing really well!!", I assumed this would be closer to 18 or 20 eggs.
In the end, we really only need 2 healthy happy embryo.
Also, do any of you know of a good support group in Philly area?

Cycle Buddies?
I am doing frozen donor egg IVF. I start Lupron Injections on Cheristmas Eve! Egg thaw is the 15th of January. Big day January 20!
The waiting is the hardest part right now! Any advice about injections. I am going to do the lupron and my husband is going to do the progesterone injections.
Someone actually said eat bacon wrapped pineapple between thaw day and transfer day. My nurse said everyone will have great helpful hints. Some more tasty than others.
