I know in the past others have put up their cases and gotten great feedback, so I wanted to do the same. Collectively we have all learned so much, and your knowledge is powerful! I'd love any thoughts.
SO, I have a terrible sed rate, which I've had for quite some time. My sed rate yesterday was 88. In the past couple of years, I've been to a rheumatologist in addition to my PCP etc... and they've run a bunch of tests, and no one knows why it's so high. I'm overweight and have hypothyroidism that is controlled w/ Synthroid. I have low anti-thrombin activity and also am heterozygous for 2 MTHFR mutations (so I switched to methylfolate). I've tried gluten free, tried juice fasting, taken a long term of turmeric with no response.... I've been tested for rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and lymes, all negative. My other lab work is fine. I do have chronic back pain as well as hip pain.. I have spondylolisthesis... a broken vertebra that is slipped and they say that is causing my hip pain (pain is radiating), but that should not cause such a high sed rate. I've been doing acupuncture for 11 weeks, and chiropractic care for years. Also had CRP tested, which is also very high at 22.
I'm worried about having so much inflammation. I'm going to start Lovenox prior to my transfer. I had a conversation w/ my RE about my concerns and about seeing how prednisone can help those in my situation... and she's open to it. She said the lovenox may help my sed rate go down.. but if it doesn't, then a few days before our transfer, we'll start prednisone if needed.
I just wanted to see if you ladies had any thoughts about all of this and our plan. We're still in the process of getting our donor approved.. but want to hash all of this out now so we are prepared. Any feedback is appreciated!!
