I'm 26 and was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure two years ago. Our reproductive endocrinologist told us that the only way we would ever be parents would be via IVF using a donor egg/embryo or adoption. We began the process of domestic infant adoption last year because we weren't sure if the IVF process would be too hard on my body and we were afraid that it simply wouldn't work. After spending $37k on a failed adoption (and we're still waiting to try again), I'm beginning to wonder if we made the wrong choice.
My question to you ladies is how much does it REALLY cost to do IVF using donor eggs? I already know that our insurance covers tests and medications, but not procedures. So I'm just curious to know how much it would cost us out of pocket if we decided to try.
