HI, it has been a while since I posted here. I am grateful to report I am 35 weeks along with a baby boy and couldn't be happier. I wanted to know your opinion on cord blood banking. We need to make a decision soon and I am feeling overwhelmed as private banking makes you feel as saving the baby's blood (especially a donor egg baby) is a life insurance in case you need it for the future (it's expensive and not certain it could even help). On the other hand public banking reassures you that chances are your child will never use the blood or could benefit from it, (because it's cells could carry the same disease you are trying to cure) but rather could help a sibling or a stranger (Don't want to throw away something that could help someone else).
Thanks so much for your thoughts and reasoning behind your decision of whether or not to go public or private on this matter. 
p.s. if you are going private, which provider you picked and why? I will more likely go with Americord, since they cover 20 yrs of store with the initial payment. they don't advertise as much as others and their prices are a bit better.
