Good morning, everybody.
In the recent few months, I've concluded that Donor Egg IVF is the only way my husband and I are going to have a baby. I had a tubal reversal at 44 in August, 2013, but as of May, 2014 when I had my HSG, my tubes are blocked again. I paid out of pocket for my reversal, so I've already wasted over $5000 with nothing to show for it.
As I understand, I should go directly to Donor Egg IVF because of my age. I'm a little disappointed, but I'm okay with it. I just want to pick the best clinic so I have the best chance of success.
I'm in GA, just southeast of Atlanta. I don't mind driving, but it will have to be in state because I can't take off time from work to travel. So far, I've been to seminars at ACRM, GRS, and Emory. I am going to the one at RBA tomorrow morning. I think I have narrowed my selection down to either Emory or RBA, but would like more information on all four of them or any other one that I might not know about.
I really like the success rates for Emory and I loved the doctor that did the seminar. She seemed very passionate about her work. I had a difficult time understanding the process though because the financial planner said I'd have to go elsewhere for my eggs since they don't bank donor eggs.
I have also heard great things about RBA and they are my second choice, but could be my first choice.
I'm just really confused about everything and I just can't afford to blow more money that I don't have. We will be financing almost all of the costs, so while success rates are priority, I have to think about pricing too.
Can I get your recommendations and any extra information about your DE IVF experience?
