I wanted to share with all of you something my husband told me (he's a professor of genetics and anthropology) when we talked about using donor gametes -- in our case both donor sperm and donor eggs: On average one human is 99.9% identical to another human. To put it into perspective, this is five times closer than one chimpanzee to another.... I just think it's important to remember that we are all human; we are all "related" genetically. In the end, when it comes to our children, what matters is the love we give them.
