We had our beta this morning. Bfn. Now I have to figure out what to do from here. We had only one embryo. So we’re back to the egg bank for more eggs to hopefully get more embryos. But before we go thru with any transfers, I’m determined to rule out any problems with myself. If anyone has any recommendations on what to ask our doctor at our WTF appointment I would greatly appreciate it.
Here is a rundown of our diagnosis: I have premature ovarian failure with very little chance of ever conceiving naturally. We were told donor eggs were our only option. I requested to be tested for the MTHFR mutation and I tested positive for a heterozygous mutation. I was told that I did not need any type a blood thinner or Lovenox I just need to change myprenatal to folate as opposed to folic acid. I also requested an ERa biopsy and I found out that I was pre Receptive meaning I needed extra progesterone in order to have successful implantation.
My husband suffers from
MFI likely due to radiation to the groin from past Hodgkin’s disease. He had low count, low motility and if I remember correctly poor morphology.
We did ivf with frozen donor eggs and Icsi with my husbands sperm. 6 eggs fertilized, and 2 made it to day 5. Only one was pgs normal.
The odds were not in our favor, which is why I requested the era test Bc I wanted to get it right.
Our doctor said everything looked great! No reason to think tht this wouldn’t result in a pregnancy. They never mentioned a problem with using my husbands sperm, never even insinuated that with the quality we may not get good embryos. I was also never told the grade of my embryo, which I do plan on asking at my appointment...
But ladies. Do you know of any thing I should ask when I go for my appointment. Any tests i should request or change in protocol?
My protocol was :
Estradiol 2mg tabs 2x day from cycle day 3 on
Then 1 ml pio daily for 6 days prior to transfer. I also did a progesterone suppository in the morning of my transfer.
I’m at a loss here. I feel defeated. Emotionally and financially
