Hello, Ladies! I need some advice. My doctor says I need the medications listed below. I called three pharmacies for out of pocket costs. One was definitely less expensive, but still close to $1000. We were originally quoted $500 by the doctor, so this is a big issue.
We also have medications covered through CVS in-network. I called them, but they said they'd need a pre-authorization for medication before pricing out the Lupron. They were able to price out the other two. They were cheaper.
However, my insurance doesn't cover anything coded for oocyte donation. They only cover IVF cycles right now.
My question is this: Since these are medications for me, should I try to get a pre-authorization through my RE for the meds with my in-network pharmacy, even though they may code it for a DE cycle?
2nd question: Do you think I can get a pre-authorization/prescription for a General Practitioner or a OBGYN?
3nd question: I've heard of people donating their leftover meds. Is there a place where people list these that I don't know about?
Lupron 2 week kit x 1
Estrace 2 mg- three tablets daily through 10 weeks of pregnancy
Progesterone 10 ML in oil or ethyl oleate- we usually order 2-3 vials at a time which would be good for about 1 month. You need it for 8-9 weeks total.
Thanks in advance! Really trying to save some money here!!
