I have two DEs in storage at FIRM, where they have been since 2013. I have paid storage fees and they are considered mine. Due to the hassle and expense of traveling with a 3 year old, I decided to transfer them to a clinic closer to me. They have known about this plan since November. It has taken me awhile to complete the medical tests, wean my daughter, etc but I'm just about ready for a FET in July. NOW FIRM decides they won't let me transfer them due to confidentiality. The names of the original donors are on the straws(well one actually since they were from an egg donor) Cryoport says that's bull and they should be able to do it since I won't have access to the straws directly. I'm having my new lab call to address their concerns. Any other suggestions? I'll consult with an attorney tomorrow. I have read and reread the paperwork and it does not say no transfer at all. I'm pissed and feel this is just a ploy to get my money.
