Hi all....
I am 44yrs old and went through IVF at CCRM in Denver, Colorado (where I live). After two retrivals, four transfers, one stillborn at 38 weeks (gut wrenching as you can imagine) my last embryo is now sleeping peacefully in my nursery, my beautiful eight month baby boy.
I am now 44yrs old and want to go through IVF again with a donor egg as I don't have anymore of mine left. CCRM tells me there's a 2% chance I would get pregnant with my own eggs anyway- read 98% failure rate- so I won't even bother trying.
I had an AMAZING experience with them and got pregnant using my own eggs at 43yr. CCRM is one of the best clinics in the country, but also the most expensive. $53K + mine and donor's drugs, not including ICSI or PGS testing. They don't allow patients to use donor eggs from egg banks so you are 'stuck' using a donor vetted from their labs. Down side is availability- as of today they had less than ten donors on their website and only three that were Caucasian without any genetic disorders from pre-screening. I used a sperm donor and will again so my babies will be genetically related, but was slightly taken aback that they will only show baby pictures of the egg donors.
We're considering another clinic and want to know your thoughts and experiences using a donor egg +43yrs old?
