Hello,

I am a newbie just now entering into the world of donor eggs. I have a diagnosis of DOR and I am 45. We have been trying to conceive for a decade but are only now able to afford medical intervention. We have gone through two rounds of ivf and my body does horribly with egg retrievals. Due to my DOR the first ivf we had 3 eggs, 2 five day blasts and a BFN. Second ivf we had 3 eggs, zero blasts and I was paralyzed with pain for a week after the retrieval. After the first retrieval the pain was significant but manageable, so I had no issues with trying again. But the second retrieval was my breaking point. I have been told by many medical personnel that I have a high pain tolerance and I know that just by living with my level of endometriosis for years, but after waking up during the retrieval ( my RE said that had something to do with my breathing and heart rate not clueing them into the fact that I was waking up...OUCH!!! ). And I take Percoset and Celebrex every month for my period and all I hope from those meds is for them to dull the pain enough for me to function or sleep depending on the time of day. As a result of all of this we decided with our RE today that donor eggs is our next step.

I have tried to research a lot on my own but I have learned that all of you ladies here at BBC have more insight than my RE.

Have any of you used Fairfax Egg Bank? Did you get pregnant? Any other advice is welcome.

Thank You,

C aka PugMom
