44 IVF with own or donar ?

Hi,

I'm new to this site. I concieved naturally last January but miscarried at 6 weeks. We have been trying naturally all year as my husband wasn't ready for IVF before our wedding this past July. I have no children of my own, my husband has 1 girl from his previous marriage. I'm soon to be 44 and want to do IVF. He has been reluctant as he is very catholic and has taken months to,accept the reality of our chances. He will support me thru the cycles but is worried it will just cause us stress with no result. I mentioned a donar egg (which I'm not thrilled about) and he seems even more scared of that. I. Desperate to be a mother to a child I carry and grow as an extension of us. Am I kidding myself that at 44 IVF is gonna work? I have this horrible feeling I will put myself thru this and no baby will come. I am wondering if I need to skip my eggs and see if I can't get hubby on board with me to use a donar. I wasted so much time on building a career I do t want to waste any more. I'm scared and wish this nagging feeling failure would go away.
