So, I got eggs! Now let's see how this all progresses...

I'm posting here because family and friends think I'm nuts to go on this journey again but here I am, at the start of another DE (and donor sperm) journey towards hopefully a second child.  I won't do a transfer until Jan/Feb of next year.

This time around is completely different, my egg donor let's call her DED (dear egg donor) was over the donor bank age limit so I needed to do a private egg donation.  I wasn't totally onboard with the cost but what the hell, I know I'd love another child and a sibling for my girl who is genetically connected.

So I get a call last week "Your donor is ready for retrieval tomorrow!" and I'm like "Whaaa?!?!" they had told me this would happen at the end of November.  The good thing is that there was no time to worry since there were many forms to sign and other details we hadn't completed.  Which is good, since I'm a perpetual worrier.

They retrieved 15 eggs and 14 fertilized and on Monday I'll have the Day 3 count, then Day 5 then PGD testing.  The embies (hopefully) will be frozen until I'm ready to start my transfer cycle, early next year.

Wow, this is really happening!  It has been a heartbreak of a year for me since I lost my Mom last month and she my best friend and literally held my hand through my first ivf and was with me during my daughter's birth. I'm a single mom by choice and while I have family, no one is a dedicated, involved supporter like my Mom was.  But we all need angels watching over us right?  My little girl is the proof that this is the right thing to do and I want her to have a brother or sister for life.  I pray for a healthy happy baby, like I did last time, and adding to that, two siblings who will be best friends for life.

So we will see!  I plan to be on a Jan-Feb donor cycle thread next year!
