Hi there,
So here's my next task at hand:
I'm going to put down an $500.00 deposit so I can have the donor go to my clinic and be evaluated (U/S, AMH, FSH). (Since she is 29 and not proven they will allow me to only pay 500 for this and not the whole agency fee) My nurse/donor coordinator assures me that if my doctor does not believe she will be a good egg producer he will "kick her to the curb....gently"![;) ;)]()
The agency says I have to sign the contract first and pay $500..if the donor does not pass the eval I lose my 500. If she passes and I pick her and go forward with her then the 500 goes towards the total fee..
I'm having to do this quick because she has to go in on CD 3 and she's about to start her period any day.
My question is: Are you guys just going with the RE clinics consent and agency's contract? Or are you also getting these reviewed by an attorney and possibly having a separate contract drawn up?
In Ohio, where I am, there's no concrete law about parental rights of recipients and egg donors. Everything I've read states that it's assumed that the intended parent and the woman who gives birth is the mother. The recipient and husband donating sperm are on the birth certificate and that's been understood in this state but there's no specific law.
My nurse says the consents that my DH and I sign in their office and the consents that the donor signs are all that's required and they sever the donor's parental rights. It's totally optional if you want to have a separate contract via attorney.
Well if I want to catch her CD 3 I am pretty sure I've got to get this contract back to the agency by tomorrow or Friday. She did give me a referral to an atty. I guess I'll call tomorrow to ask more.
Just wandering what you all have done.
Are you just going with the Consents from the RE?
