I've had 3 IVFs, 1 FET and 2 miscarriages. We are approaching beginning our 4th year actively TTC and 2 years at an infertility clinic. I'm almost 37 and though I do not have a diagnosis of DOR (original dx was MFI), I'm thinking that may be the reality even if my bloodwork looked fine. In my cycles with my own eggs, I've had low responses, poor quality eggs, and 2 miscarriages due to chromosomal abormalities linked to my eggs.
So, we are considering doing a donor cycle. I'm in the gathering info stage, so I'd love to hear your personal stories to help me sort through my own thoughts.
Why did you choose donor egg vs donor embryo? Did you consider both and ultimately choose one? Why? Was one never a consideration? Why? Did anyone need to use donor eggs and donor sperm?
When you decided on doing a donor cycle, what information was important to you when selecting your donor? Physical appearance? Ethnicity? Hobbies? Health? Education? Open vs closed? Anything else? What was important to YOU and why? What was not important to you?
