Hello,
My husband and I are going through egg donor selection. In short, I am finding I am most connected to finding someone with my eye (brown) and hair color (dark brown). Specifically, I have always identified myself with my dark brown hair/features.
We are both Jewish and have found our options to be quite limited. Given that, we have 2 finalists:
1) Medium brown hair, wrote beautiful answers to the agency questions that made me gravitate to her. Seems like a very kind, thoughtful person. She is 1/2 Jewish.
2) Looks extremely similar to me - I feel very connected to her in this way, but less connected to what she wrote. Her answers were fine, but just didn't grab me like #1. She is 1/8 Jewish.
My question: Donor #1 her parents/sibling have dark brown hair. She is the only one with lighter brown. My husband has light-med brown hair. Does anyone know if dark features (hair/eyes) can skip a generation? I am wondering if there is any chance she could carry dark genes since her family has them?
Many thanks.
