I am very confused about purchasing Frozen Donor Eggs. They usually come in a lot of 5 to 8 "mature eggs".
I spoke to Shelly at Egg Donation.com today and she said they would not allow PGS / PGD done after they are fertilized. You get 5 eggs, they thaw, fertize and grow to Day 3 then implant (no guarantees). They typically get 3 embryos to implant. I ask about testing on Day 3 and implanting on Day 5. She said you'd have to start with 16 eggs to do testing in order to 5 normal eggs. I challenged her, because you CAN test ONE embryo ... her rationlization was that half the eggs could be abnormal ... I told her MY POINT EXACTLY. She finally said she was not going to argue with me. Of course, the deal sounds good $16K (includes thaw, icsi, transfer) for 5 eggs.
Any of you who purchased frozen eggs, by-passing fresh donor, did you test embryos?
