Advice after a failed frozen donor egg cycle

Hi all,

As some of you know, I did a frozen donor egg cycle with my RE in Chicago, he uses his own donors. We had 5 eggs from a two time proven donor, 4 were mature, 3 fertilized but only one continued to grow and that one was only a 5 cell on day 3 transfer, ended in a BFN. DH's sperm was a great sample according to nurse, so not sure what the problem was.

My RE has GREAT donor egg stats with fresh eggs, consisitenly in the 80% rate for the last 3 years but with frozen he has no stats to report as he has only done a few as he is new to the frozen egg game( just a few years in. Which makes me wonder if my egg failure is lab related :(

So this is my dilemma, I can NOT afford a fresh cycle of $26,000 plus donor meds but CAN afford another frozen cycle, he gives us 10 frozen donor eggs for $17,000. He may do a shared fresh cycle if the stars align and magically there is somebody willing to share a donor we might be interested in. Then we could afford a fresh cycle.

We have given ourselves to March, if no other couple is interested in a shared cycle by then, we want to try another Frozen cycle, but do we go with another Chicago clinic that uses MEB where we would get 5-7 frozen donor eggs or do we give our RE another go where we get 10 eggs but I have lost a little faith in their practice now.

Oh and one more thought, would it cost a lot to change clinics? We paid $500 cash for our consults and another $300 for copays in hysteroscopy and ultrasounds. Do all RE's go thru all the testing again or could we just transfer records?

It's driving me nuts not to have a solid plan, I am a planner, an organizer, okay somewhat of a control freak and I know I have to let some things go during this process but this is literally our last chance, there is NO more money to be had, we are actually selling some possesions to pay off the last loan so we can get another loan for the next go round!

Sorry for the long novel post but I know you women have such a wealth of knowledge and advice and I trust you all so much and want honest opinions on what you would do?
