Possible TMI:
I shared a little on early/mid thread but didn't want to overwhelm people who weren't interested.
So I've been reading about c-section babies having possible health issues after birth. mostly stemming from them missing out on the birth canal normal flora they would get if they were born vaginally. The articles talk about gut/digestive problems and possible food allergies.
So there's a recommendation that the nurse/doula/partner take a swab of your birth canal immediately after delivery and rub it all over the baby's lips and in their mouths. Or you can rub it on your nipple right before the baby feeds for the first time.
Has anyone else read more about this? I has a vaginal delivery the first time and my son has been very healthy his whole life. I just want to do everything possible, even if the hospital thanks I'm crazy, to prevent health problems with my new LO.
Thanks for any input.
